NEW Spennymoor Town signing Frank Mulhern is hoping to enjoy another promotion from the National League North.

He was part of the Stockport County squad that won the NLN title in 2018-19, and this week became Town’s latest recruit.

He said: “I know a few of the lads in the squad so I’m really glad to be joining the club at an exciting time.

“I feel like this is a fresh start for me after a couple of years at Stockport County. It was brilliant achieving promotion with them and playing in front of such a big crowd, but I now want to get fit and push on with Spennymoor.

“I want to help this club achieve promotion to the National League and chip in with a few goals along the way.”

Mulhern finished the 2019-20 season on loan at Boston United, make a substitute appearance in a play-off final defeat against Altrincham.

Town manager Jason Ainsley said: “Frank is a top forward with experience playing higher up, so he will offer us experience and natural goal-scoring ability during his time here.

“I’m sure he will hit the ground running here and settle in with the squad before the new season eventually gets underway. We wish Frank all the best for his time here at Spennymoor Town.”
